Start your adventure with an experience of a lifetime, with an AirFraser flight from Hervey Bay to the eastern beach of Fraser Island – or alternatively take an 8:30am Fraser Dingo air-conditioned 4WD transfer to the Dilli Village Great Walk access point to begin the hike. In the morning hikers are able to leave their overnight bags with clothing etc. with the Fraser Dingo transfer vehicle to be dropped at their camp later in the day. This lets hikers carry light backpacks with necessities, such as water, snacks and rain jackets. Once at Dilli Village, the start of the hike, hikers will hike around 6.3 km through the rainforest to Lake Boomanjin. Once arrived at the lake, hikers will have a short time to enjoy the lake and eat lunch, which will be provided by the support crew. In the mid afternoon once finished at Lake Boomanjin, hikers will hike around 7.2km to Lake Benaroon where the camp is set up and the support crew have dinner and overnight bags waiting.

Wake up the sounds of birds and peaceful serenity of the bush, enjoy a light breakfast and morning swim in the lake before embarking on the second day of the hike. In the morning you will hike 7.5km, via Lake Birribeen to Central Station, where lunch will be provided by the support crew, at Central Station hikers camp. After lunch you will then hike 6.6km to Lake McKenzie, via Basin Lake. Once you’ve reached Lake McKenzie they can enjoy a peaceful sunset and a camp cooked dinner from the support crew.

Wake up for sunrise on the beautiful famous Lake McKenzie, start the morning with a fresh swim and quick breakfast before beginning the last day of hiking. After breakfast you will hike 12km to Lake Wabby, where they will have a bush picnic lunch at the Lake Wabby Hikers camp. You will then be able to relax in the afternoon, take a swim in Lake Wabby and enjoy before returning. Hikers will do a short walk from Lake Wabby back to the Eastern Beach where the 4WD transfer awaits. The 4WD will take you back to Kingfisher Barge landing where you will be able to enjoy an afternoon drink at the Jetty Hut before boarding the barge to return to Hervey Bay!
