With a 4wd vehicle transfer you will be dropped on the Eastern Beach of K’gari within 7 kms of the Valley of the Giants. Spend the afternoon hiking into this iconic location in the heart of Fraser Island, see amazing giant rainforest trees still standing as a remnant from the past. Enjoy your lunch and a cuppa (using your light weight gas cooker and billy) at the hikers camp under the giant trees. Make camp at the hikers camp, be creative with a camp cooked meal, prepare for an amazing walk on the 2nd day.
Packup camp and start your walk through the rainforest, past vast sand blows and lookouts with awesome views of the eastern beach, through open eucalyptus forest to Lake Wabby for a fresh water swim in this amazing emerald lake. Make camp at the Lake Wabby hikers camp. Cook another camp meal and enjoy a night under the stars.
Pack up and get going early for a 21km hike to Lake Mckenzie (Via Central Station, Pile Valley and Basin Lake) or stay and enjoy another swim in Lake Wabby and take a 12km hike direct to Lake Mckenzie. Arrive at the hikers camp and enjoy an afternoon swim in the crystal clear waters of Lake Borrangowra! Enjoy this beautiful Lake the next morning from the secret hikers beach before hiking 13 km back to the barge and your 4wd transfer by 4:30pm.
