Fraser Dingo is hiring on a rolling basis for the following roles.

TOURISM BOOKINGS ASSISTANT

Position: We are looking for a Tourism Bookings assistant with a minimum tourism diploma, or tertiary studies in tourism entry-level, workplace experience preferable. Casual award wages to start.

  • The opportunity to move to full time permanent work for the right candidate.
  • Well presented and hi-tech office space. Apple interface provided with iMac computers.
  • Working hours: week days approx 6-7 hours a day.

Requirements the successful candidate will need:

  • Experience in customer service, tourism, computer work and booking software.
  • Excellent level of English while simultaneously able to communicate with tourists from all around the world.
  • Great multitasker, quick learner and able to deal with processing large groups of people quickly and efficiently.
  • Answering the phone, taking bookings, communicating effectively but assertively!
  • Able to sell products and tours through your enthusiasm and professionalism.
  • Ability to handle busy stressful periods but also able to offer further skills to advance the business during quiet periods.
  • Work independently, think outside the box and confident in making your own decisions.
  • Precise attention to detail with no room for error when creating bookings and tours.

Responsibilities the successful candidate will need:

  • Covering for owner/managers when they are away
  • Opening and closing, overseeing lockup of workshop
  • Cash, eftpos and invoice handling
  • Maintaining a clean and ordered office workspace
  • Confirm booking dates correctly and copy information accurately
  • Oversee tour bookings are kept to required numbers
  • Open drivers license and own reliable transport

TOUR GUIDE – FRASER ISLAND 4WD TAGALONG

We run 2 and 3-day Tagalong & hiking tours to K’gari/ Fraser Island and are seeking an experienced Tour Guide to join our Fraser Dingo team. This is a diverse role that requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, a high level of customer service and a passion for the environment. The candidate must be mature and able to organize large groups of people responsibly!

To be successful candidates must have:

  • Valid Drivers License
  • QLD Drivers Authorisation
  • Basic Mechanical knowledge
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Soft Sand and off-road driving experience
  • Possible experience in adventure tourism guiding
  • The ability to cook or oversee cooking for a large group is a must, with attention to detail around food hygiene and customer requirements
  • Broad-form knowledge of Fraser Island
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field such as Certificate IV in Eco Tourism or Tour Guide Level 1 or 2 Accreditation would also be highly desirable, but not essential
  • As part of the role we may also require a support guide to facilitate our hiking tours!
